Forest Park | Saint Louis, MO | Wedding Photographer | Holly Dawn Photography | Melinda & Andy

This was one of the most romantic weddings I have shot in a long time. Melinda had so many amazing details for her and Andy’s wedding which paid tribute to Melinda’s mother who passed away last year. She wore her jewelry, had something of hers pinned to her bouquet as well as wore the most beautiful delicate corsage in her memory. Yes I was teary (as well as Melinda) when her sister pinned it on for her.  Melinda and Andy chose a very intimate ceremony in Forest Park for only their immediate family. It was not about the pomp and circumstance, but just about two people and the love they shared. They each had their sister stand up for them in lou of a wedding party. Seriously it was just so perfect. I had the most time to shoot just the bride and groom than any other wedding I have shot. I loved this time with Melinda and Andy. Of course it would not be one of my summer weddings this year if it did not rain (actually had torrential rain).  It was insanely sunny for their ceremony and then the sky got really dark after they said “I do.”  It was funny at their dinner (didn’t do a reception) held at Scape, everyone’s phones kept going off with weather alerts! Nothing but good memories!

Thank you so much Melinda and Andy for letting me capture your special day. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love. I am so excited that you two found each other!

Saint Charles, MO | Newborn Photographer | Baby Declan

Meet Baby Declan, the tiniest baby I have ever gotten the honor to photograph. He was so small, that my hats didn’t fit! Oh he sure was absolutely precious. Mom told me that she wanted only prop shots and I was so excited to not do bean bag work. I love props and was so glad Declan’s mom does too!  Declan was not a fan of having his hands and especially his feet touched to position him. I would get the most adorable squeaks and then he would uncross everything. It was such a game of cat and mouse let me tell you. He was such a cuddle bug too. Totally got my baby fix for the day. Thanks Declan!

Family Photographer | Downtown Saint Louis, MO | Siders Family

Ok I have the adorable Siders Family up on my blog again today. I absolutely LOVE this family. Ben and Mackenzie have the most beautiful children don’t they! I love seeing how their personalities come across in pictures. This was our first session together that Charlie (the baby) was walking. He really had no time for me so I got my exercise chasing him around a bit. He just giggled and was so proud of his new skill! Go Charlie go! Well I could go on and on about these precious children and how much I love Ben and Mackenzie but I will spare you the ride on the sappy train. Enjoy the pics!

Mandy & Jake | Wedding Photography | St. Charles, MO

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. I have Mandy and Jake’s wedding for you to take a sneaky peek at. When I shot their engagement session, I knew I could not wait for their wedding. They were so full of spunk and just had a personality for days. Their wedding day certainly did not disappoint. Although there were some glitches (like the unity candle dumping wax all down Jake’s jacket, having to take shelter at the Ameristar Casino since there was a tornado in the area and then getting stuck outside in monsoon rain even though it was sunny out) their day was absolutely magical. They were so in love and it was so evident watching them pray together before their ceremony. It was such an emotional experience for them as a couple and for those of us lucky enough to witness it. Music was really important to them as well and their ceremony was full of wonderful music. Mandy and Jake even danced up the aisle as husband and wife.  Their reception was an absolute blast. It was held at  Duchesne High School where Mandy went to high school. Talk about awesome! They made one heck of an entrance and the party just kept going from there. Yes Mandy started the cake fight and Jake most certainly ended it. It was a cake smash like I’ve not ever seen before. Mandy smelled like cake the rest of the night. Oh I forgot to mention the cake was funfetti! I also got to witness my first what the kids call Icing. Mandy hid the Smirnoff Ice (I bet you can guess where) and Jake obliged. Did I mention this was a huge celebration party? It ended with a unique daughter/father and mother/son dance. They both did mash ups. Their quests were on their feet. Mandy and Jake, thank you so much for letting me be part of your special day. You are an absolutely amazing couple and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

St. Charles Wedding Photographer | Abbey and Sam | Bogey Hills Country Club

I absolutely loved working with Abbey and Sam. They are just so wonderful to be around and it was so evident how much they loved each other.   I remember at their engagement session, Sam kept saying how he just could not wait to marry his best friend.  Their wedding day was full of love and excitement. It of course rained on us but that did not put a damper on the day what so ever. Fred Bird even came to cheer the happy couple on. Being a huge St. Louis Cardinal fan myself, I thought this was absolutely awesome!  Abbey looked absolutely gorgeous (Sam did not look to shabby himself)!  Her dress was amazing and she looked amazing in it! They had the most fun details and their reception was a blast. They decided to forgo the cake and do an ice cream bar. It was so good! Thank you so much Abbey and Sam for letting me be a part of your special day. I love what I get to do  and the people I meet. You are truly one of those couples photographers dream about.  Congratulations on your marriage and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
